Three-Day Intensive Reproductive Mental Health Master Class

This intensive 3-day, live and interactive course offers 21 Continuing Education (CE) credits including 2 hours of cultural competency via NASW/CT Chapter and is designed to equip professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to support individuals experiencing perinatal mental health challenges. The training provides an in-depth exploration of the biological, psychological, and sociocultural factors influencing perinatal mental health, with a focus on trauma-informed, culturally competent, and evidence-based care.

Participants will learn to differentiate perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), recognize the unique mental health needs of diverse populations, and apply effective screening, assessment, and intervention strategies. Key topics include reproductive loss, birth trauma, obstetric violence, healthcare disparities, postpartum planning, perinatal sexual health, and the integration of therapeutic approaches such as CBT, IPT, EMDR, and psychopharmacology.

This course aligns with the Postpartum Support International (PSI) Certification Exam Blueprint, providing a solid foundation for those preparing to sit for the exam. By the end of the training, attendees will be equipped to implement best practices in perinatal mental healthcare and advocate for systemic improvements to support birthing individuals and families.
