Treatment and Prevention of Traumatic Birth (7 CEU's)

Join Catharine McDonald of Growing Well Counseling & Stefanie Trudeau, Doula and Evidence-Based Birth Instructor for a full-day training on Birth Trauma! This course is intended for therapists and birth workers who support birthing people who may have trauma they bring to a birth or are processing trauma from a previous experience.

34% of women experience birth as traumatic and any professional working in the field of perinatal health is going to encounter birth trauma on a regular basis. In this training we will explore the different types of trauma, how to identify, reduce and help clients heal from birth traumas. Being a birth-savvy provider helps professionals empower clients through informed discussions and advocacy.

We will spend the morning focusing on Clinical terms, phrases and interventions for supporting women through birth trauma and in the afternoon will extend/expand our understanding of evidence-based care-what it is, how to find it, and how to empower and educate women and birthing families in the peripartum period.

This course is pending approval for 7 CEC’s with NASW/CT Chapter.

By attending the workshop and completing an online evaluation, birth professionals will earn a certificate for 3 contact hours from Evidence Based Birth®, a continuing education provider for the Kentucky Board of Nursing # 7-0081. Nursing contact hours can be applied to most childbirth educator and doula certifications, as well as the Certified Professional Midwife credential.

Attendees will also receive a one month Professional Membership to Evidence Based Birth® (a $49 value)
